Tips for Saving, Sharing, and Exporting

Tips for iOS devices

iOS users, this guide is for you! Here is a step-by-step guide to saving your Dolby On recordings to your iOS device.

1. Open your Library and select the track you'd like to save or export

Swipe left on the track you'd like to save or export. Please refer to the attachment below.

2. Tap the share icon

The share sheet will open, and you can choose from the following options:

  1. Send Message
    • Share your tracks via Messages or Mail.
  2. Post to Social Media
    • Share your tracks to social media apps on your device.
    • Please note: Audio tracks may require an animation overlay before you can post it to certain social media platforms like Instagram.
  3. Share Audio
    • Choose from one of the following:
      • Export Lossless - (For audio tracks only). Export your track as a lossless WAV file, allowing you to share it via email, SMS, Airdrop, and more. Please Note: This option is only available if you recorded that audio track after enabling the "Lossless audio" option in Settings.
      • More Audio Apps - Share or export your audio track as a lossy M4A file to audio-compatible apps on your device like email, SMS, Airdrop, and more.
  4. Share Video
    • Choose from one of the following:
      • Save Video - Saves your track as a MOV video file to your device's Photos app.
      • More Video Apps - Share or export your video track to video-compatible apps on your device like email, SMS, Airdrop, and more.

Tips for Android devices

Android users, this guide is for you! Here is a step-by-step guide to saving your Dolby On recordings to your Android device.

1. Open your Library

Swipe left on the track you'd like to save or export. Please refer to the attachment below.

2. Tap the share icon

The share sheet will open, and you can choose from the following options:

  1. Post to Social Media
    • Share your tracks to social media apps on your device.
    • If you cannot find the desired social media app, 
      • Click More Audio Apps under Share Audio section if you would like to post audio
      • Click More Video Apps under Share Video section if you would like to post video

After that, more audio-compatible or video-compatible apps will be displayed, such as email apps, SMS, Google Drive, Nearby Share, and more.

    • Please note: Audio tracks may require an animation overlay before you can post it to certain social media platforms like Instagram.
  2. Share Audio
    • Choose from one of the following
      • Save Audio - Export your track as a lossy M4A file, allowing you to share it via email, SMS, and more.
      • Export Lossless - Export your track as a lossless WAV file, allowing you to share it via email, SMS, and more. Please Note: This option is only available if you recorded that audio track after enabling the "Lossless audio" option in Settings.
    • Ensure that your track is named correctly. If not, tap on the track name to edit. Then, tap "Save".
    • Choose a folder destination.
    • Once your track has been saved, you'll see a pop-up message, reminding you where your track is saved. Tap the pop-up to locate your file.
  3. Share Video
    • Choose from one of the following
      • Save Video - Export your track as MP4 video file, allowing you to share it via email, SMS, and more.
    • Ensure that your track is named correctly. If not, tap on the track name to edit. Then, tap "Save".
    • Choose a folder destination.
    • Once your track has been saved, you'll see a pop-up message, reminding you where your track is saved. Tap the pop-up to locate your file.
