To ensure your recordings can be properly restored, you must perform a complete device backup and confirm Dolby On app data is included in the backup.
Important Note:
Google Backup Limitations:
- Google's automatic backup for apps has a 25MB limit per app.
- If your Dolby On app data is under 25 MB, you can follow these steps to back up and restore your recordings.
- If your Dolby On app data exceeds 25 MB, Dolby On recordings cannot be backed up together with your phone data. The Dolby On team is working on a new solution for this.

Step 1: Prepare Device for Backup (OS-Level Requirements):
The backup process must meet specific conditions:
- Close all background apps
- Use a Google Account with sufficient cloud storage
- Phone must have sufficient battery level
- Keep device idle and charging (recommended)
Step 2: Create a Full Device Backup
Note: The backup steps may vary depending on your Android device brand and OS version.
- Open Settings app on your old Android device.
- Scroll down and tap Google, or Search for "System backup" in the search bar.
- Select "Backup".
- Ensure your Google account is selected for backup.
- Turn on Backup by Google One. Please refer to the Attachment.
- Backup by Google One is the official Android backup service built into the Android OS; no separate app is needed. It replaced the old Google Drive backup from Android 12 onwards. The Google One app from Play Store is optional, offering a clear interface to view backup and storage.
- Tap "Back up now" to start an immediate backup.
- Wait for the backup process to complete.
Verification Steps(Optional but recommended)
- Open Chrome Browser
- Sign in to Google One
- In Google One web app, verify Dolby On app data is included in your most recent Android device backup
Step 3: Set Up New Android Device and Restore Backup
- Turn on your new Android device.
- Ensure the device has an active internet connection.
- Follow the on-screen setup instructions until you reach the "Copy apps & data" screen.

Tap "Next". Please refer to the Attachment.
- Tap "Can't use other device?". Please refer to the Attachment.
- Tap "OK" on popup "Restore data without other devices?"
- Sign-in using the same Google account credentials used on your previous device.
- From the available backup list, select the most recent backup from your old device.
- Enter previous mobile password

Review the backup contents. Ensure "Apps" are selected for restoration and confirm the restoration. Please refer to the Attachment.
- Wait for the restoration to complete (time varies depending on backup size and internet speed).
- Allow some time for all backed-up apps to finish installing.
Step 4: Verify Your Dolby On Recordings
- Once the restoration is complete, locate and open the Dolby On app on your new device.
- Your recordings should appear exactly as they were on your previous device.
- Verify that all your recordings and setting preferences have been successfully transferred.
